my september in wyoming | your 50% gain

i leave for wyoming this weekend, and i couldn’t be more excited… it has been a few years since i’ve been up in the autumn to shoot.

the chill of winter coming in the air, elk bugling in the distance, the wildlife teeming with energy and vigor… ah, it can’t be aptly described.

so, to my point.  for the entire month of september, i’ve decided to really give an incentive to all of you out there who may have been waiting to buy a limited edition print from my storefront

to commemorate my blessed time in wyoming this month, i am offering A HUGE 50% discount off EVERYTHING!!!  but the sale ends september 30 at 12 a.m. CST… so don’t wait.

and since i make all of my prints by hand (except for the huge ones) and sign and number them, they will not ship until the first week of october.

so scratch your Christmas presents off the to-do list early, and buy everyone a beautiful and unique gift!  at 50% off no less!!

oh, i almost forgot…. use “AUPA2012” at checkout for your discount :)

pedernales falls | sunrise hike

after my shoot in austin last week, i decided to head out to camp at an old favorite spot of mine: pedernales falls state park.

i hadn’t been out there in about ten years.  and frankly, it was better than i remembered it.

from the river to the waterfalls to the vast brush country, pedernales falls is a true hill country gem.

next time i go, i’ll spend more than just a few morning hours… :)

breaux design | landscape art

stephen breaux is the genius landscape designer behind austin’s breaux design.

i absolutely love his work, and so it’s a real privilege that he’s one of my friends and clients…

here’s a sampling of what he and i have been working most recently.

appalachia | deep greens and blues…

i always seem to head west when i’m shooting landscapes and nature.

so it was a pleasant surprise to my eyes and camera to go east in june.

i think we’re going to have to make it an annual trip…  :)

appalachia | a family reunion

my wife’s family has roots in the mountains of north carolina.  deep roots.

on her mom’s side, many in the family still live on the land they settled in the 19th century.

it is near the little town of caney fork, on the creek of the same name.

and it’s beautiful by the way.

so here is an abridged chronicle of our time in appalachia, celebrating july 4th (a little early).

side note: i shot a ton of landscapes and nature photos as well, and will share those in the next post…
