san diego again

we enjoyed another long weekend in san diego a few weeks ago…

it’s such a handsome skyline from so many angles, i just had to shoot a few more cityscapes.

the san diego skyline

my commercial job in san diego was a success!  and i even had a little bit of spare time to explore this beautiful city…

night shots from corodano island…

fireworks!  i think it was a navy graduation of sorts, but not sure.

ocean beach…

surfers near ocean beach.

the skyline from cabrillo monument…

a few more from coronado during the day…

san diego is an incredibly beautiful city.  i had a great time exploring the skyline from all angles.

now i’m looking forward to returning in april for my cousin’s wedding!

preview: san diego

i’m in san diego for a commercial shoot today (so sorry to all my friends and family here!  my time is so short, i’m unable to see all of you).

last night, after scouting locations, i ended up on coronado island while looking for a good city shot.

wow…  what a cool place.  i really need to come back to san diego and spend more time exploring…

living the high life

this past week, my great friend John got married in napa, california.  it was hugely entertaining.

the weekend started early with a friendly croquet match on thursday…

then came the photo bomb contest.  a photo bomb is an interesting phenomenon in which someone, totally unrelated to and not invited in a posed picture, finds a way to intrude.  let the contest begin!

John knows his wine.  he frequently writes on the subject for books, magazines, and blogs.  we reaped the benefits of his superior knowledge with a weekend chalked full of fantastic tastings…

Amy enjoyed the outdoor photo booth.  perhaps a little too much.

up on a mountain

here’s a quick preview of a new film i’ve been working on called the mountain.  just like the other short films, it’s basically just moving versions of my landscape/ nature imagery, put to music…  i’m still very new to this.  i hope to grow and become more sophisticated in my attempts at filmmaking.  but if you like this kind of thing, please check out the film chronos.  it has provided great inspiration for me, and it is a fantastic example of how a film of this sort should look.

these particular clips were shot in telluride this past week.  however, the rest of the film is shot in locations all over the world.  locations include (or will include) big bend, wyoming, california, spain, lebanon, kenya, ethiopia, and hopefully many more.

i don’t plan to have the mountain finished anytime before the winter of 2010, but i’ll continue to release little previews like this one.  let me know what you think…

thanks so much for watching!
