happy st. patrick’s day everyone!
in honor of one of the biggest drinking days of the year, i decided to share some studio shot i did a few months back.
shooting on green, i did a few sessions with jay and elle.
jay’s turned into a mock-pseudo-sierra nevada ad (only because we were drinking my favorite beer, and i decided to photograph jay).
and elle’s just turned out weird. i was playing around with lighting and color.
so i’m not really sure what to make of these…
but i’m behind on my goal for producing new images, so… here you go!
jay loves sierra nevada torpedo extra ipa, and so do i, dallas, 2012

ideas aren’t always easy to come by.
i can sympathize with this truth: i resolved in january to concept and execute 2 new shots per month to beef up my book.
just an artist trying to exercise my creative muscles.
well, after my first shoot, i got busy and didn’t devote the time and energy needed to keep creating.
but the first key to keeping resolutions is to know how to pick yourself up and persevere after you drop the ball.
so here i am.
elle and i have spent the last few days conceptualizing. and yesterday, we executed.
more to come soon!

if your answer is, “well, not really, but sure!” then you’re like us.
we feel very blessed to do what we do. traveling, meeting great folks, and photographing the world.
but every once in a while, you really do just need to go to beautiful beach somewhere and drink fruity beverages while relaxing in the sun, if at all possible.
so we took a few days off and headed back down to the mayan riviera in mexico, where we went last year before for our honeymoon…
ahhh, relaxation. if you go in the middle of the week for just a few days to one of the hundreds of all-inclusives, it’s actually a very economical choice for vacation.
our resort was just a half a mile or so down the beach from a nature preserve…
crystal clear rivers running right into the beautiful caribbean waters! great for snorkeling.
but if you’re like me, and love what you do for a living, you need to work at least a little to keep your sanity in all that relaxation…
so i shot every day, and explored the possibility of shooting for resorts. and elle and i both kind of love that idea ;)
