a real vacation
i travel a lot. but it would be a bit of a stretch to say that my traveling is “vacation”.
it’s not that i don’t enjoy the destinations, or have real moments of relaxation, it’s just that when i travel, it’s usually with a purpose. and that purpose does not involve sitting still or vegging out.
so this year, now that i have a travel companion… we took a real vacation.
anna maria island, florida. it’s a small island south west of tampa, with caribbean clear water and white sand beaches. they say that it not very well known to outsiders, but it’s where floridians go to get away.
the beaches were uncrowded and beautiful. it was truly relaxing.
yea for real vacations! i think i’ll have to take one of these more often.
but don’t get the wrong impression….. i still had to “work” a little to keep my sanity….
print sale!
just in time for Christmas, i have decided to have a massive, fine-art print sale…
all available color and black & white prints on my website are 50% reduced or more!
but the sale will only last until december 14th, to insure that all print orders are received in time for Christmas delivery.

4 weeks in vermejo
this summer i was hired by ted turner’s vermejo park ranch to photograph landscapes and wildlife.
and yes, i had to pinch myself every day…
vermejo is over half a million acres of mountain wilderness. it is some of the most spectacular landscape in all of new mexico.
30 hours in new york
i had some work in new jersey a few weeks ago… so inevitably, i wanted to make a stop over in the city.
nothing more “new york” than jerry seinfeld.
and perhaps the naked cowboy… unfortunately…
i was blessed to spend the evening with one of my best friends who lives in queens, anna.
two of anna’s other friends happened to be in town as well… this called for karaoke.
30 hours anywhere is never enough. especially new york city. but my short time in the city, eating street gyros, singing karaoke with old friends, going to a wonderful church in brooklyn, and seeing as much of the “sights” as possible… was certainly better than not going at all. i’ll take it.
